Tenure Track Faculty Announcements (up to 5 positions)
The Kinesiology Program Area is housed in the Department of Health, Kinesiology, and Recreation in the College of Health at The University of Utah (www.utah.edu). The College of Health is one of five components in the Health Sciences Center at the university, along with the School of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing, and College of Dentistry (www.health.utah.edu). The Kinesiology program has approximately 900 undergraduate students and 85 graduate students (Masters and Doctoral). The Kinesiology Program Area invites applications for up to five 9-month, tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to start 1st August, 2017. We are looking to attract faculty in the areas listed below.
Physical activity/exercise and health and exercise physiology (up to three positions)
Candidates should have a strong research background in the prevention and/or management of chronic disease including, but not limited to, diabetes, obesity, cancer, and cardiovascular disease. Applications are encouraged from candidates with a background in kinesiology, exercise physiology, physical activity, health and exercise or closely related areas.
Applied cognitive neuroscience (up to two positions)
Candidates should have a strong research background the area of applied cognitive neuroscience such that they may align with institutional research priorities in the area of neuroscience. Applications will be considered from candidates with an interest in health, performance, and aging. These positions may involve a joint or adjunct appointment with the Department of Psychology. Applications are encouraged from candidates with a background in kinesiology, cognitive neuroscience, motor behavior, motor control, human factors and experimental psychology or closely related areas.
